Best Urban Nature Spot. West 11th Street Park received the Best of Houston 2011 award from the The Houston Press. "In addition to the forest trails, there's ample open space for picnicking. But it's the woods that will bring you back."
The Wireless Wilderness Cell Phone tour was selected to receive the Proud Partner Award in the 2011 Mayor's Proud Partners competition from Keep HOUSTON Beautiful!
The self-guided nature tour has received over 1,100 calls from 431 users for over 63 hours of time spent learning about local nature. See what visitors to the park have said about the cell phone tour.

Drought conditions throughout Texas have led to burn bans across the state. By order of the mayor, all smoking and all use of barbecue grills is banned in city parks until further notice. Please use the utmost care at all parks. Call Park Rangers at 832-395-7100 or 832-395-7003 to report anyone smoking or operating BBQ pits in city parks.
