A pocket wilderness in the heart of Houston.

West 11 Street Park

Volunteer Day in the Park

Saturday, October 29; 8:30 a.m. until we finish!

It’s time for the end-of-the-season cleanout in the butterfly/native bee gardens, and we need your help. The remains from last summer’s plantings need to be cleared and all the beds need to be heavily mulched. We are transitioning the gardens over to a selection of perennial plants that are favorites for butterflies and native bees, and last spring’s annuals need to be cleared out first.

Can you spare a couple of hours to come out and help? We will be meeting at the southeast corner of the park (Shelterwood at West 11th) at 8:30 a.m.

If possible, bring: hoes clippers shovels rakes gloves wheelbarrows We will have donuts and coffee available to keep you fueled up for the morning!

I know everyone is so busy on weekends, but we could really use your help. Even if you can only come for an hour or so, please do come!

Rain date: Saturday, November 5.
