Members of the Houston Audubon
Citizen Science Committee encourage you to post bird
sightings from the park—even a modest list of common birds—on
eBirds and TexBirds.
The posting of the data attracts
the attention of the birding and environmental communities to
the West 11th Street Park, increasing our number of park
supporters and helping in our efforts to preserve this wonderful
site as a permanent City of Houston Nature Park.

On TexBirds, you have to
subscribe to post sightings, but the process is relatively
painless. For an example of a West 11th Street
bird list, check the TexBirds Archive for an entry on
July 17, specifically,
http://listserv.uh.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0607&L=texbirds&T=0&P=27213.
(No need to subscribe to check out
the archives.)
eBird is a project
developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the
Audubon Society to promote better data
recording and knowledge of North
American birds. The West 11th Street Park has
already won a place on eBird as one of the Texas birding
"Hot Spots." (But note that it is listed simply as "11th Street
Park.")
