PRIZES! PRIZES! PRIZES! To celebrate the spring bird migration of 2022, Friends of Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve Park is pleased to announce a coloring contest for children.

2 children, aged 6 to 9, will be selected to receive a copy of Kids Guide the Birds of Texas, and 2 children aged 10 to 12 will be selected to receive a copy of Birds of Texas Field Guide.

In addition, EACH of the 4 selected winners will receive 4 tickets to the Houston Audubon Raptor and Education Center located on Sims Bayou. To learn more about the Raptor Center, click here.

Contest rules: Print out an image from the coloring tour of Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve, click here. Have your child work their magic to make it their own. To post your child’s single page artwork, click here anytime from Friday April 1st through Saturday April 30th. Don’t forget to include your child’s first name, age, and means of contact on artwork. All entries and means of contact will remain private.

A drawing will be held to determine and notify the winners. On Sunday May 15th at 3:00 pm prizes will be awarded to the winning families and a brief, private Bird Walk in the Forest will follow! (If it rains on May 15, the prizes and Bird Walk will be Sunday May 22 at 3:00 pm).
